Who writes and reviews clinical content

Patient education is written or edited by the Brightly Dental Clinical Team. Pages that discuss symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, risks, recovery, or prevention are clinically reviewed by Dr. Wesley Stanton, DDS.

The reviewer checks that the page explains dental care accurately, separates general information from diagnosis, and gives appropriate direction for urgent symptoms.

How sources are selected

Brightly prioritizes current guidance from public health agencies and established dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, and U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Clinical references appear in a small expandable source list near the bottom of relevant pages. A citation supports the general educational claim; it does not replace an individual examination or treatment recommendation.

Published and reviewed dates

The published date identifies when the patient-facing page was first released on this site. The clinically reviewed date identifies the most recent review by a Brightly dentist.

Pages are reviewed again after a meaningful clinical update, a substantial rewrite, or a change in the guidance used as a source. Minor spelling or layout changes do not reset the clinical review date.

What this information can and cannot do

Website content can help you ask better questions and recognize when to call. It cannot diagnose a tooth, confirm whether a procedure is appropriate, or replace an examination and needed imaging.

Call 911 or seek emergency medical care for trouble breathing or swallowing, severe facial trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, or rapidly spreading swelling.
